Free to try.
Paid to use.

The free version is a real test drive: three inks, 360 dpi, three jobs, with every feature switched on. Enough to print films, burn a screen and judge the dots on your own press. Pro removes the limits from October 2026, for six or twelve months per payment — and seven beta printers get two years of it free.

Free — always

  • Small FREE mark in the film margin, never in your artwork

Beta printers who help test and share feedback or a review get two years of Pro, renewed free afterwards. That offer closes on 30 September.

Pro goes on sale in October — there is nothing to buy until then. Payments are handled by our payment partner, who also issues your invoice and calculates local tax. See the terms and refunds: you can get your money back within 14 days.

Why the free version is a trial, not a tier

Plenty of tools give away a crippled version forever and hope you get frustrated enough to pay. That is a bad deal for both sides: you never really see what the thing does, and we never learn whether it is worth paying for.

So free here is deliberately shaped like a test drive. Three inks, 360 dpi, three jobs — with every feature switched on, including the mesh presets, solid mode for lino, registration marks and the ZIP download. Enough to separate a real design, print real films, burn a real screen and judge the result on your own press. If the dots come out right, you will know within an afternoon. If they do not, you have lost nothing.

What free is not is a way to run a shop. A working printer will pass three jobs in a week, and at that point the tool is doing paid work and should be paid for.

How access works

There is no account and no password. When you pay, you receive a code tied to your email address; you enter it once in the app, or click the activation link in the mail, and Pro is on. The code carries its own expiry date, so it works offline and nothing about you is stored on a server.

Your subscription renews automatically every six or twelve months, and every renewal comes with a fresh code by email. Cancelling is easy: use the link in any receipt or renewal email, or write to us and we do it for you. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. If you cancel, nothing is lost or deleted — the app simply returns to the free limits.

What Pro is not

Pro now includes a basic CMYK process-separation mode (beta): four fixed screen angles, an elliptical dot and a conservative ink limit, with no ICC colour management or Pantone matching — it splits your artwork into process inks, it does not colour-manage them. It also removes limits and, later, adds storage. If you need calibrated, colour-managed photorealistic process work, a proper RIP is still the honest answer.

The tools stay free

The mesh calculator, the step wedge generator and the exposure test film are free for everyone, forever, with no account. They solve real problems whether or not you ever use the separation tool, and gating them would be petty.
