PrintFilmReady is beta software provided as is. It produces films, not guarantees: always print, measure and inspect a film before committing screens, ink or a deadline to it.

What this tool is

PrintFilmReady is a browser-based utility that separates artwork into spot colour layers, or, in Pro (beta), a basic fixed-angle CMYK process separation, and converts those layers into 1-bit halftone films for screen printing. It is offered as a working tool, currently in beta, free of charge unless stated otherwise on the site.

It is not a colour-managed prepress system. It performs no ICC colour management, no Pantone matching, and no press calibration, in either mode. The CMYK mode uses a fixed screen-angle set and a fixed, conservative ink limit — it is not calibrated to any specific press, ink or substrate. Where the site describes these limits, they are accurate and deliberate.

Check your films before you burn a screen

This is the part that matters most in practice, so it is not buried in a list. Software cannot see your screen, your emulsion, your exposure unit, your mesh, your ink or your substrate. Output that is mathematically correct can still be wrong for your setup.

Before committing materials, print a film, measure it against the dimensions in its margin label, inspect the dots, and where the job warrants it pull a test print. You remain responsible for verifying that any film is fit for your process. We are not liable for screens, emulsion, film stock, ink, garments, paper, press time or client deadlines lost to output that was not checked.

No warranty

The tool and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the tool will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce a particular result on your equipment.

As the tool is in beta, features may change, behave unexpectedly or be withdrawn. We may modify or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Belgian law, Extend NV is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site or the tool, including loss of profit, loss of production, wasted materials, wasted press time or loss of data. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or arising from Belgian mandatory consumer law.

Technical information on this site

The guides, charts and mesh recommendations published here are general guidance drawn from established screen printing practice. Correct starting points are not guaranteed outcomes: mesh tension, emulsion type, exposure, ink, squeegee and substrate all shift the result. Treat published figures as a place to begin testing, not as a specification for your shop.

Your artwork and our content

You keep every right in the artwork you process. Because files never leave your browser, we acquire no rights over them and hold no copy. You are responsible for having the right to reproduce the artwork you use, including any third-party logos, photographs, typefaces or licensed characters.

The text, charts, design and code of this website and the tool are © Extend NV unless stated otherwise. You may quote or link to our guides with attribution; republishing them wholesale is not permitted. This applies to everyone, but the sentence is really aimed at competitors: we monitor this site's content and source code for unauthorised copies, and we act on what we find.

Links to other sites

Where we link to suppliers, forums or manufacturers, we do so for convenience. We do not control those sites and take no responsibility for their content, products or privacy practices.

Applicable law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by Belgian law. The courts of Antwerp, Belgium have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory rights a consumer may have to bring proceedings in their country of residence.
