The pains at this stage
Hold real tonal range in an edition, not a flat poster look.
Paper holds finer dots and a wider usable range than fabric on the same mesh, so an edition often wants a different mesh and LPI than a t-shirt run of the same image. See screen printing on paper.
Register a multi-layer print precisely, copy after copy in the edition.
The same crosshair-and-crop-tick system that keeps a production run consistent keeps an edition consistent too — and relief work uses kento marks instead, if that's your process. See align the marks, not your eyes.
Know exactly what this tool is for, and what still needs a calibrated RIP.
It isn't trying to be a full prepress system. This tool separates spot colours, or, in Pro (beta), a basic fixed-angle CMYK, with no ICC colour management in either mode. If a piece needs calibrated, colour-managed process work, a proper RIP is the honest answer — see what Pro is and isn't.
Get solid, carvable shapes and kento registration built for relief work.
Lino and block printing switch the raster off for flat, carvable shapes, mirrored, with kento marks. See lino & block printing.

Does PrintFilmReady do CMYK or simulated process separation?
Yes, in Pro (beta): a basic, fixed-angle CMYK separation with no ICC colour management. For fully calibrated, colour-managed process work, a proper RIP is still the honest answer. See pricing and what Pro is and isn't.
Should an art print use a different mesh than a garment print of the same image?
Usually finer. Paper holds more detail and a wider tonal range than fabric on the same mesh, so an edition can often run a higher line frequency than the equivalent textile job. See screen printing on paper.
How do I register a multi-layer relief print?
With kento marks — a corner and edge notch cut into the block itself, not the crosshair system used for screen printing. See lino & block printing.
What does PrintFilmReady Pro cost?
€99 for 12 months, or €59 for 6, both auto-renewing with a 14-day refund. Pro launches October 2026; the free tier works today with 3 inks, 360 dpi and 3 jobs, no account and no payment required. See full pricing.
