For an emerging print shop

Repeatable runs,
not a one-off fluke

The jump from printing for yourself to printing for clients is not more inks or a bigger press — it's getting the same result on order three that you got on order one. PrintFilmReady's job is to make the file side of that repeatable: mesh, LPI, exposure and registration marks derived the same way, every time.

The pains at this stage

Land a second order, then a third, that looks exactly like the first.

Repeat business is the whole point of an emerging shop, and it dies the moment a repeat order comes out slightly different — a different red, a softer edge, a registration that's a hair off from last time. That's not bad luck, it's usually one of a handful of specific, fixable causes. See align the marks, not your eyes for the three most common ones, and ink mixing basics for getting the same spot colour twice.

Skip the $495 RIP until your volume actually pays for it.

A dedicated film RIP is a real shop's tool, and a real shop expense. PrintFilmReady does the same halftone calculation for free, in the browser, so the RIP purchase can wait until volume actually demands it — not before. See halftone films without a RIP.

Take on dark-garment orders with confidence, underbase included.

Underbase is where a lot of first-year mistakes live: wrong choke, wrong print order, ink that doesn't sit right under the top colours. Get the mechanics right once and it stops being a special case. See underbase and halftones for dark garments.

Invoice a business client properly, VAT number and all.

Once you're billing a business rather than a friend, you need a proper VAT invoice, not a receipt. See the business purchase flow for how that works on the Pro side.

Refer overflow work out instead of turning a client away empty-handed.

Referring it out is better than a client learning about your capacity limits the hard way. The supplier directory and printer directory exist for exactly that — sourcing materials you don't stock, or a shop nearby that can take the overflow.

Common questions

How do I keep a repeat order looking identical to the original?

Use the same mesh, the same ink formula, and check the same three registration causes: emulsion side, print order relative to the underbase, and a screen locked square before you register to it. See align the marks, not your eyes.

When is it worth buying a dedicated RIP?

When printer-driver settings and browser-based screening genuinely can't hit the density or speed your volume needs — not before. Most small shops run well past their first year without one. See halftone films without a RIP.

How do I invoice a business client properly?

Pro purchases can be made on invoice with a VAT number for business buyers, separate from the individual pricing page. See the business purchase page.

What does PrintFilmReady Pro cost?

€99 for 12 months, or €59 for 6, both auto-renewing with a 14-day refund. Pro launches October 2026; the free tier works today with 3 inks, 360 dpi and 3 jobs, no account and no payment required. See full pricing.
