One job, one ZIP
Do not unpack the ZIP into a pile of loose files. Everything the job needs is in it: the films, a copy of your original artwork, print-instructions.txt and settings.txt. Move the ZIP into your job folder and leave it as it is. When you need a film, open the ZIP.
Let the name do the work
The tool names the set after your artwork, today’s date and a version: poster_2026-10-04_v2. The date tells you when, the version tells you which attempt. The version goes up by itself when you download a changed set on the same day, so a second try with another mesh does not overwrite the first.
You can still type your own name, for a customer or a job number, when you press the download button. Put the part you will search for first, such as Smith-tour-shirt, and leave the date and version at the end if you like. Clear the field and the automatic name comes back.
The reprint test
Open settings.txt six months later and it tells you the mesh, the line frequency, the angle, the print width, whether the films are mirrored and whether an underbase was used. That is everything you need to coat the same screen again. Match your mesh to it and the new film will land where the old one did.
The same applies to a customer who comes back: send them the original that sits in the ZIP, or open it yourself to see what you made last time.
Three small rules
- One ZIP per version. Keep the older ones: they are small and they are your record.
- Do not rename the files inside. The screen numbers and colour codes in the file names are the print order.
- If a customer changes the artwork, upload the new file instead of editing the old set. You get a new name, a new date and a clean start.
The film labels and file names post explains what each part of the name means.
Common questions
Where do I find the settings I used for an old job?
In settings.txt inside the ZIP: mesh, line frequency, angle, print width, mirrored or not, and underbase.
Does a second download overwrite the first?
Not if the set changed. The version in the name goes up by itself when you download a changed set on the same day. An identical set keeps its version.
Can I use my own name for the ZIP?
Yes. Type it in the name field or in the prompt when you download. Clear the field to get the automatic name back.
